ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
We've been coming to the Alps ever since we were kids, & share a passion for the kind of holiday you can enjoy up in the mountains. Looking back, we must have stayed in 30+ resorts over the years and we'd never heard of Oz en Oisans until five years ago. Since discovering it, we have been coming here every year with our two children (7 & 9). Last year, we decided to take the plunge and buy our own place, we haven't looked back since!
We fell in love with the chalet at first sight. A lot of places talk about being ski-in / ski-out, but here you get a literal interpretation: you can ski into the hall if you want (although we'd prefer it if you didn't!) Check out the video on our facebook page to get a feel.
The resort is perfect for families, with a creche for children aged 6 months to 5 years, a car-free village centre which you can often ski through mid-winter, many easy ski runs around the village and a well established ESF ski school for individual or group lessons. There are five good restaurants & bars a few mins walk from the chalet. The village has all the ameneties you would expect in terms of ski / bike hire, a sherpa supermarket, and lift-pass office. Whilst the chalet is let on a self catered basis, there is an excellent local chef in the village who can provide 3 course meals delivered to your door.
We bought the chalet for our love of winter sports, but have also started coming in the summer. The resort offers fantastic walks & mountain biking trails, and the Tour de France passes down the valley in Allemond.
THE SLOPES
Oz-en-Oisans is situated in the Alpe D’Huez Grand Domain, one of the largest ski areas in France with guaranteed high altitude skiing, and a long season that extends well into April.
The ski area encompasses 5 French Ski Resorts with a combined total of 250km of downhill skiing, with 120 individual pistes, served by 82 ski lifts. The appropriate Lift Pass allows you to ski or snowboard in any of the ski areas of Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard Reculas.
There is a broad range of runs to meet all abilities - from the magic carpet nursery slope in Oz to the Sarenne valley, the longest black run in Europe.
